Presentation: What every Iowan should know about the state’s bee population
Saturday, Oct. 21 at 2:30 p.m. — Iowa City Public Library | View Schedule
Iowa’s declining bee population is already telling us everything we need to know about our environmental future. If we look closer at the behavior of bee colonies around the world, what else might they have to say? Speaker Paulina Mena is a Central College biology professor. Originally from Chile, Mena has traveled throughout the Americas studying the social and sexual lives of bees. She brings their secrets — and those of Iowa’s 400+ unique bee species — to Witching Hour in a presentation and viewing of rare, fascinating samples from her travels.
